Working in and around live traffic every day requires planning and a diligent approach to safety. In the past five years, Achen-Gardner has installed more than one million lineal feet of wet utilities and more than one million square yards of pavement within the public right of way and active traffic environments. Maintaining a safe construction project is our top priority.

Aric Smith, Achen-Gardner’s Safety Manager, works closely with project superintendents and field crews to provide continuing education on proper procedures required for performing work safely. He also creates project-specific safety plans to accommodate any unique risks. Aric visits projects regularly and enforces a “zero tolerance” policy which resulted in more than 1.5 million man-hours worked (2013-2018) without a lost time accident. Achen-Gardner is committed to the safety and health of all workers, clients, and the general public.
